High contrasts!

Due to bad wind contitions on the last weekend in Klingenthal, we changed from the Gunderson to a Massenstart competion.
With the running it has gone well, and I was able get only 1:38 to the lead. Because the wind was so heavy,
we could not jump, and had to do all jumps on Sunday (1 instead 2 for the mass start and 1 for the sprint).
On Sunday Fortuna stood to me with the jump for the mass start aside and I could achieve
the best wide of the day with 142.5 m and so I could achive the 9-th place.
 
Unfortunately, with the sprint I did not have any more luck with the wind and then I have already landed with 91.5 m.
Therefore I had the biggest dispersion in the field, 1. in the mass start jump and latter with the attempt of the sprint.
Then I have also not lined up any more for the running.
 
Now I am full in the preparation on our seasonal climax, the home world cup in Seefeld! I am looking forward to this week-end, because it will be certainly again a brilliant competition with many spectators and I hope the weather also joins in.

Please, keep the fingers crossed for me again, then nothing more can fail.

Val di Fiemme – Predazzo

The request for keeping the fingers crossed has functioned very well. THANK YOU!

On Saturday with the Gunderson of 15 km I could achieve with place 7 my best seasonal result of which I am very proud of.
It simply fitted everything. The fantastic second jump, the great cross-country skies
which were preserved by our engineers very well and not least my form.

I also had to show off what I can do my fans, which came from home – especially my mum.

Unfortunately, I could not repeat the top result of Saturday on Sunday in the sprint.
With place 32 I also missed valuable world cup points.
But I congratulate David for his great 3rd place.

We are the coming week-end again in Germany, in Klingenthal,
before it goes then to the next home world cup to Seefeld, to which I am looking forward now already!
The time till then, I am using for preparations and for training.

Germany Grand Prix

The last 3 competitions stood under the sign of the „Germany Grand Prix “.
It is like the 4-hills tournament as the jumpers.

On the 30th December 2007 in Oberhof, on the 5th and 6th January 2008 in Schonach. Unfortunately,
in none of the 3 competitions I had to do something with the lead, and not even created top 20 places.

Why? A list of many factors. No power and a bad luck by the ski choice led to the worst results in this season.

Anyway, new play – new luck. At the coming weekend we are in Val di Fiemme.
I am looking forward to these events especially, because we had our World Champion title in 2003!!!

However, I hope you keep the fingers crossed for me again. I do need it.

Not only sporty but also organizationally active

Like one or other has maybe already struck, I have this year for the first time a drinking belt
sponsor. „Tiroler uplands Nauders – at the Reschenpass “.
Together with the tourism federation of Nauders I have planned a cross-country skiing week for the first time this year, for young and old.

It will take place from Monday, 28th January to Saturday, 2nd February, 2008.
Whether Classic or Skating, beginner or advancers; our draught is extensive. I will hold personally the weight training as well as the cross-country skiing unities for the advancers, Dr. Stefan Hainzl, our team doctor, will hold a talk on right training as well as carry out a Laktat test.

It will also be present Wax and ski companies which stand with pleasure question and answer.
Who owns no own material, can borrow it of course.

Cross-country skiing sprint on the 16th March, 2008

After the season end the tourism federation and I organised one more cross-country skiing sprint.
Everybody can take part. You can compete yourself with: Christoph Bieler, Mario Stecher, Bernhard Gruber, Lukas Klapfer, Tino Edelmann, Michael Botwinov, Harald Wurm and myself, and the one or others professional.

The running begins on Sunday afternoon with the qualification and the final runs will be right afterwards.
Of course a final party takes place after the strenuous competition where you can experience all Stars very closely.

For all who do not want to run along, everybody is warmly welcome.

You can also announce yourselves for this directly at the tourism federation of Nauders.

I would be happy to see you up their in beautiful Nauders.

Ramsau

What world cup week end!
The Ramsau has appeared from her best side. Half a metre of snow, beaming blue sky and endureable temperatures.

On Saturday the mass start took place. You already know, first 10 km of cross-country skiing and afterwards 2 jumps.
Actually, I am always quite good in this competition, but it did not run to me that good in the cross-country race and therefore
I had to deal with rank 32. and 15.5 m for catching up.
But with 2 first-class jumps, I still created a flawless 12-th place.

Thanks to the support of the Stubaier fanclub, my family, as well as numerous Styrian friends, I was motivated most seriously and spurred on myself even more.
Thank you once more for coming!!! It was really fun!

On Sunday was the Hurrican sprint. After place 11 after the jumping and a forces-robbing running I finished with place 25 the week-end.

At the moment we are to our last course in Ruhpolding, before it goes in the Christmas vacation.

Trondheim

I do not know I should say any more - again 2 top Ten places.
On Saturday was of the Gunderson competition and I could achieve after long time again a jump victory of which I am very proud.
But 6 seconds on 15 km were not enough for the whole victory!
But, at least, it was enough for a 9th place.

On Sunday was the Sprint competition.
Unfortunately, I had no such a good jump which is also not to be led back on the not so good conditions, and had to go as 6th to the running.
I felt fantastic fit already with the entrance and was fully excited the running.
And my feeling was right.
Held me brave, could keep up with Björn– after he had accumulated – and lost the last valuable seconds only with the last attack which I had missed, unfortunately.
Still, rank 8 at the end confirmed me in my preparation.

Indeed, our whole team is in a great constitution.
Bieles won in the Sprint, his first seasonal victory which certainly some will follow and Bernie achieved his first 3rd Placel. Congratulate you both once more quite warmly.
The next Weltcup takes place in lovely Styria, in Ramsau on the 15th and 16th of December. Maybe one or the other has time to come and check it out in person.
I can only say to you, it is an experience over and over again.

Hello again!

This was a great world cup opening.
On Friday I had in the Gunderson competition with 2 almost perfect jumps, a really initial position with place 2 for the cross-country skiing.
The course for the cross-country skiing in Kuusamo is known for her selectivity, however, I could still keep up myself for 3 of 5 rounds at the head.
Unfortunately, Ronnie was too strong and therefore I lost the connection. Also the following group, right in the middle Bieles, overtaken me a round before end.
But I could save a good 9-th place into the finish, with which I am extremely contented. Bieles made a fantastic 3rd place. Congratulations again.

Saturday with the sprint I achieved with a great jump of 142 m, the highest distance, but I lost points, because I did not make a telemark.
Place 5 after the jumping ended, in the end, with place 16.
Therefore I had my best prelude week-end since I am competeting in the world cup and I am still able of increase.

Meanwhile we have arrived again to the next world cup in Trondheim.
The 3 days at home we used for skijumps as well as cross-country skiing training, not to forget to the regeneration with family and friends.

Today we had the official training. With the ski jump I had some problems, however, I am confident for tomorrow.

I hope you watch the competition tomorrow again and firmly hold thumb, then I have no worries ;-)

Hi guys!

Only quite briefly, the world cup prelude is accomplished.
And I have made a really good 9th place with which I am extremely contented.
After the jumping I was on place 2, but couldn't keep it in the race.

Hello

Meanwhile I am again some days at home since our first snow training in Finland.

The conditions in Rovaniemi and in Kuusamo were nearly perfect.
The ski jumps were preserved in a really good state and the cross-country trails as well. During ten days we were up the North, we worked on the finishing in the jump area as well as in the cross-country skiing area.
Because we had all temperatures of -18 to 0 degrees in the high north, we could test the ski differences and got further in the preparation.

This time we had the first time our own cook with us. Wolfgang understands his craft and it was really difficult to pay attention to our weight. ;-)
By the comfortable being together in our cooking bungalow, we had a great atmosphere which also strengthened us as a team.

Of course we also had this year again a test competition with the other nations. The teams of Austria, Germany, Czech, Estonian, Russian and Finland were planned, but the Germans had travelled already to Kuusamo and therefore we competed against other 4 nations.
Anssi Koivuranta won before Bieles and Hannu Manninen.
I made the 10-th place with which I am so fairly contented.
Unfortunately, I had a bad first jump.

Back at home come I thought that we will have at least 1 metre of snow.
Well, I was wrong. Here in Stubaital we virtually have nothing, but thank God is in Seefeld, where we finish our jump and cross-country skiing training, still enough snow available.

On Tuesday it already goes on to Kuusamo at our 1st worldcup weekend.

Gran Canaria

Again at home from 10 days of Gran Canaria and how do I feel? – COLD!
Just kidding, we (Bieles, Stefan and Traxi) could train on the sunny island well and also the soul allows dangling a little.

For our scooter training we had perfect conditions and with Traxi a fantastic guide,
because he has carried out in Gran Canaria already some training weeks with the bike.
Primarily the trainings week was for the perseverance and a few quick unities and the weight training also did not come too briefly.

At the moment I enjoy few days at home, before it goes up to the high north to Finland next week.
We wait or still hope that it will snow a bit, at the moment it is not much colder than here in Austria.
Sense and purpose is, to get a few kilometres on snow with the cross-country skies,
as well as to do the 1st jumps under winter condition.

Hello!

Now the Austrian masteries in Oberstdorf also are over already.
Unfortunately, it did not run as well as planned. On Saturday I reached the 5th and on Sunday the 8-th place.
With the running I am in each case contented, indeed, I could not point in the jumping what I really can.
And it was not only with the bad wind conditions.

Nevertheless I am looking forward to the winter, when we can jump, finally, on snow.

From today, 22.10.2007, I am for 10 days on Gran Canaria. No, not only to fill up with the sun, primarily for training.
However, the sun is a pleasant side effect.

Till present we had many courses, under it Courchevel and Pragelato where we have mastered the passes "Alp du Huez, Col de la Madelaine and Galibier " by the ski scooters. Unfortunately, Gummi has injured himself in jump training. Gummi, all the best and come back soon!
Further we were in Predazzo for a detailed Jump training.

The coming week-end, 20th and 21st October, 2007, the Austrian mastery takes place in Oberstdorf.
I hope you keep the fingers crossed for me and maybe I see one or other from you!

Immediately afterwards I will fly with Bieles, Traxi and Stefan to Gran Canaria for 1 ½ weeks to an excessive roller training.
And to refuel of course still a little sun.
